Band Members

Calum Morrison, hailing from Glasgow grew up listening to Traditional Scottish and Irish music. With strong musical roots from his family from Donegal he developed a keen interest in folk music and song from Ireland and around him in Scotland.

Calum is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's BA(Hons) Scottish Music degree. He became well-known in Glasgow's session scene for his dynamic and exciting playing.  Since graduating Calum has toured across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America with various groups such as the National Theatre of Scotland and Celtic Legends.  His playing has been influenced by the likes of Paul Brady, Dick Gaughan and Kris Drever. In addition to playing the bass, guitar and singing, he also plays the banjo, tenor guitar and bodhran.

 In addition to performing, Calum has been involved in a variety of different projects involving teaching children, teenagers and adults music and song such as Fèis Fhoirt, the Highland Council, Celtic Connections and the Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy.  Calum also teaches privately.  He has a wealth of experience working with individuals or groups in a workshop environment.

Orla Leavy is an Irish Traditional Musician from Connemara, county Galway In 2018, Orla was a recipient of the Plassey Campus Centre Scholarship . Orla was accepted as a member of the Irish Memory Orchestra with Dave Flynn.
She had the honour of playing alongside fantastic musicians such as Máirtín O’Connor and Liz O’Carroll.
Orla has held the title of Connacht Champion on the fiddle at the various age levels each year consecutively from 2011-2016. 
throughout the years as well as being placed in the top three at the All Ireland Fleadh in Derry in 2013.
In 2017 Orla was awarded the AIB Bursary for winning the overall Senior Traditional Musician of the year at the Sligo Feis Ceoil.
Orla has recently completed four years of the BA Performing Arts Course at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick
Ireland and throughout Europe. She recently played for the President of the University of Limerick (Kerstin Mey), and Minister for Higher Education (Simon Harris), at Plassey House at the University of Limerick in May 2022.
Orla is currently touring Germany/Switzerland with Danceperados of Ireland.

 

Gary Dwyer  musician in Dublin, proficient in guitar, banjo, and piano. Known for engaging performances in Temple Bar's vibrant music scene and for touring internationally with the acclaimed show "Rhythm of the Dance." Trained under esteemed musician Kieran Hanrahan, with a strong foundation in traditional and contemporary music.

Gary attended the Brighton Institute of Modern Music studying music production and stayed on extra year to study music business . He also attended the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School studying marketing.

 Performed guitar, banjo, and vocals as part of the musical ensemble for "Rhythm of the Dance." Contributed to high-energy performances and showcased traditional Irish music on an international stage. Engaged with audiences across multiple countries, enhancing the overall production with versatile musicianship.

 

Accomplished accordionist from Monaghan, Ireland, with a distinguished career in Irish traditional music. Paddy McGrane has won several prestigious All-Ireland titles on the accordion, demonstrating his exceptional skill and deep understanding of Irish musical traditions. In addition to his extensive international touring experience, Paddy is a dedicated music agent, representing and promoting artists in the traditional music scene. Known for his engaging performances at renowned Temple Bar venues in Dublin, Paddy brings both artistry and professionalism to every project.

Performs as an accordionist at a wide range of venues and events across Ireland and internationally, specializing in Irish traditional music.

 Collaborates with prominent Irish musicians and ensembles, contributing to both live performances and studio recordings.

 Provides private and group lessons in Irish traditional music and accordion techniques.

Kevin Meehan is widely recognised in Ireland and around the
world as one of the best tin whistle players and composers of new Irish music on the
traditional Irish music scene and the Irish folk music scene. Kevin is a sought after session
musician and at 27 years old he has become a master of the Irish tin whistle, pushing the
instrument to its limits in a new and fresh direction.
Kevin is also a highly accomplished bodhrán player, as the bodhrán is his first instrument,
but he is better known as an active performer of traditional Irish music and Irish folk music
on the tin whistle. He was taught tin whistle and flute by Eamonn De Barra from the
Damien Dempsey band and the traditional Irish music band Slide. Kevin was taught
bodhrán by multiple All-Ireland bodhrán champion Niall Preston, known for his unique
top-end and triplet-heavy style of bodhrán playing.
Since the age of 16, Kevin has toured extensively throughout the world with his bands
Tróda, Athrú, and the Kevin Meehan band. Kevin has also toured with and regularly
appears on stage with renowned Belfast singer Gráinne Holland as part of her band and
her new show ‘Ceol na Síog’. Kevin has performed in multiple countries with various
different bands and Irish dance shows, including Germany, Mexico, Lebanon, Zimbabwe,
Cyprus, French Polynesia, Russia, The Netherlands, France, Belgium, England, Scotland,
Finland and Denmark.
